Jo at Appleonia approached us, as she knew that her website wasn't right, but really wasn't sure what to do next. She had built a very serviceable website herself, but really needed some good sensible advice about where to take it. Initially we conducted a website assessment and from that the main learning was to pull out all of the treatments and make them easier to read and research. At this stage they were all on one page and with over 100 treatments that was a pretty long page!

Initially we looked at the package that Jo was using, but this was pretty inflexible and very pricey too. So we totally rebuilt and designed the site. This allowed us to reflect the colour scheme of the salon and to simply communicate the ethos of the salon and the treatments available. It is also on a free hosting package so she is saving money too!

Next up we have optimised it for search engines, so we are now constantly tweaking and refining the copy to get it to the top of the rankings and to drive up the traffic.

The site continues to perform well, especially at Christmas when we use the site to sell bespoke packages as presents.

I now understand that it's not just about getting bookings from the site, people use it as another shop window to find out more about me before they make a booking, people really expect you to have a website these days. We have added a feedback form too so that we can learn more about the site and working with Anita, can continually improve it to meet our customers needs.
